I have a 2015 Limited with 1400 miles.. Noticed a wobble in front wheel, took to dealer, Dealer States I have a fat spot on Tire,, S/M stated it is from my Oilns Shocks, I voided my warranty by modifying my suspension
I hope your BSing, if your saying the front tire warranty is voided because of the rear shock upgrade you should definitely get some satisfaction form another dealer, or Dunlop I'm assuming.
Maybe impressing friends while coming in at a high speed with bike up on the front wheel turned hard to one side "Grating" that spot off the tire from speed and side skid.
Usually done wearing spurs as you spark 'em good! Observers note, "He's got it by the horns".
When you manufacture millions of any item, once in a while one is bad. That's my suspicion regarding your tire. We saw a few bad tires from otherwise reputable manufacturers during they years I was a mechanic in a motorcycle shop.
Voided warranty due to upgraded shock is pure horse ****. Don't take it. They have to prove that the modification caused the problem and they will be unable to do so. I recommend a phone call to the regional service manager ... Harley Davidson Motor Company holds your warranty NOT the dealership ... They have no authority to "void" your warranty ... There are laws in place to protect you from this kind of abuse.
I spoke with Olins,, Regional VP,, very interested in my issue,,offered to tune or refreshed Shocks,, also stated HD hold warranty so they are at their mercy,, But they make a better shock just not HD on label....Dealer put tire thru wheel and tire warranty... Tow and new tire covered,, $50 out of pocket.... Never mentioned Dunlop and bad tire,,,,,
Bike is back , weather is great ,, I;ll ride rather then dwell..
Glad you prevailed. You need to tell the sm he needs to go to suspension school before he spews bs out of his mouth. If it was a suspension issue to cause a flat spot (forks on fronts now!) there would be a flat spots evenly spaced all around the tire. My guess is during pdi they may have drug the skid or something on their end. BTW ohlins rock! I have the HD 357 (6s)
