Don't forget to upgrade your garage security, locks, outdoor lighting and an alarm.all the lights in my garage go on automatically if your inside...... And lock the bike up. Every layer you add slows them down.
Ride Scorpio. Has a cellular connection for real time tracking and riding logs. Has a backup battery in case the fuse is pulled so you can track the location for up to 3 days after power is lost. Will send you a text when the bike is tampered with in case you're not close enough to hear the siren. Has a proximity sensor, tilt, ignition detection, shock sensor, etc. Can be controlled with a phone app or the key fob. You can also generate a 4 digit code to give police easy online access to the GPS location of your bike if it is stolen. I'm not part of the company, just a happy customer.
only if the fob is nearby. otherwise, as soon as you turn on the ignition, the alarm will go off.
If you turn on the ignition, the alarm doesn't go off, it brings up the pin override menu to use turn signals. I know at my house, there are portions that the bike still reads the fob when it is in the house.
Sorry to hear that your bike was transferred to some low life thieves.
Disabling the security system? With the ignition switch locked?, I didn't think that was possible. Removing the main fuse will not disable the siren module as it has its own battery, if someone attempts to remove power, the siren goes audible.
So the question bears asking, did you have a siren? or just the stock security system?
I only ask to bring some kind of peace of mind for my unit, as I am under the impression as long as the ignition is locked there isn't any means of disabling the alarm system.
There is a means of installing a code, which I have changed from the factory installed code, but, this can only happen if the ignition is unlocked and the bike remains on the jiffy stand. Stand the bike up and it engages the alarm, if its not put back on the jiffy stand within X number of seconds then it fully engages.

i don't know about the rushmores, but on 2007-2013 models, if you turn the ignition on with the fob being present, you have about 10 seconds to put it into override mode by pressing the left and right turn signal buttons together. if you don't do it within that timeframe, the alarm goes off.
also, if you don't turn on the ignition and try to pull the master fuse, it's gonna go off.
in reading the 2015 manual, it appears that the operation is somewhat similar.
What's this about lo-jack having a yearly/monthly fee? Had it installed on new bike I bought in '08. Nobody said anything about that. Several years later I moved the bike without the football with me, and lo-jack was all over it, calling me and e-mailing me.Here seven years later, nothing for a bill. Just changed phone number, and nothing was said.
So my bike was stolen the other day....
It had the factory security with siren
The alarm was bypassed and the bike was taken with me at home (didnt hear a peep)
Is there a better security system than the HD?
I welcome any suggestion
