its nice everyone tells you the kind of speakers to use but one very important point is being missed. ever plan or think you will get caught in the rain ? yea I said it rain. your fairing is not water tight no matter what you might think or get told. your stock speakers are marine speakers. this is why companies like j&m and cycle sound and hogtunes are around. to give you a better then stock option with better sound in the same area as stock. you can have any kind of speakers put in your bike you want anywhere you want. kicker is good blaupunk use to make the best 6 by 9's back in the day not sure now. speakers no matter what are gonna be what you think sounds best. I have j&m speakers in my bike I just wish I put in an amp but im to busy buying stuff like wheels
Dammit boy!!!! You drank up some KOOLAID didn't ya. They hooked you good.
Biketronics fan here. I don't have deep pockets but I wanted a high quality speaker with a life time warranty and this system rocks. I am running the PBR 300x2 with a Sony head unit and BT 7.1 (standard version) and it really does sound killer. Met a guy with the Hawg wired 6 pack with stock head unit last week and my 2 speaker system blew that system out of the water. It was great to see his reaction when I turned it on and he turned his on.
I am a firm believer in that most of the time you get what you pay for and I prefer a speaker designed for a motorcycle with a great warranty that sounds killer. I had Kappas with an Alpine amp and head unit in my last glide and that sounded good too, however the BT speakers provide a lot more bass than the Kappas did.

2010 Limited with some stuff
someone definitely drank the Koolaid. Most speakers are made of polypropylene now not paper like they were years ago. I've run regular speakers not marine grade in my boat for years with no issues and they have even been submersed in water a couple of times.

I'm really debating upgrading my BT 6.5s to 7.1s, but I've read ill have to get a bigger amp for them (currently got bt454 amp, 75watts rms per channel)

but I run the BT7P14 pro speakers, now looking for a new amp to replace my JL Audio M400/4
I have had the Hogtunes setup on my 03 and now my 11. Not the best out there but reasonably priced. Speaker and amp kit and everything is plug and play with no wiring needed... This time I added the tweeter pod and I like that too and was easy to install.
