I will be spending more time in Colorado this time because for me it was the highlight of the trip I did 6 years ago. We will be going out rt 80-90 west
I would add, beartooth, big horns and chief joseph highway if you are going to be around Yellowstone
In Colorado and or Utah, monument valley and zion national park.
If in upper Montana going to sun road in glacier national park

That is an ambitious trip, I'd like to see what your itinerary looks like.

Thought I would add:
When are you doing this trip?
In some towns reservations are a must, even for camp grounds.
One other thing, It's hot out here. We live at 5700' and it's been in the 90's all week. Don't plan going too far south or desert type country you could see 110 easy.

Same thing applies to I70 on weekends if you find yourself on it. Winter time we have ski traffic and in the summer, camping traffic. People go up to the mountains to get out of the heat down here in Denver. I70 is under construction in four areas down to single lane in each area. If you find yourself needing to travel I70, do it during the week.
My latest suggestion to anyone coming to Colorado for a trip is to do the million dollar highway (route 550). Ouray to Silverton from North to South. I did this for the first time a couple of weeks back on my way to the Grand Canyon and wished I would have just stayed in this area. Going back in a couple of weeks and making a loop from Ouray to Durango and then up to Telluride. Was told by the HD in Silverton, clothes only BTW, that Sundays there are less cars along the route.
