Default Passing lamp replacement help needed

I have a 2004 FLHT. The current passing lamps have two wires connecting to them. I got a set of newer HD bulbs and they have a single white wire connected to them. So how can I wire the newer ones to work? They are a smooth clear lens which matches my updated headlight.

The red wire should be "hot" ( voltage) and the black/grey one ground. With the old bulb out try hooking what you think is the hot wire to the new bulb and ground the bulb on the housing with the passing lamp switch and ignition "on".
The bulb will light if you have the correct wire connected. The new bulb grounds through the bulb housing. Be sure to electrical tape off the bare wire no longer being used to avoid any shorting out when you install the new bulbs. If the colors are different than red/black, etc. use a volt meter or voltage lamp to determine the hot wire or just hook each one up and try the bulb until it lights. Hope this helps.

Did you buy the "new" lamps, or are you using the old sealed beam lights.
I bought the lamps, and replaced my sealed beams about 3 years ago.

You can get the new style lamps as a kit from the dealer for a reasonable price

Bought em off here, they appear to be sealed, they have a smooth glass rather than the older textured glass

So plug the single white wire coming off the lamp to the white wire coming out of the bike, touch the ground wire coming out of the bike all over new lamp, nothing. Touch it to the white wire in the middle of the lamp and it turns on? Strange, worried about causing a short by hooking it up this way. Any ideas? The lamp doesn't ground to the housing either.
