Question Decisions Decisions - New or old?

Hey guys and gals - I'm at a pretty tough impasse here with what to do. I currently have a 2003 Road king injected - It has a new paint job to my liking with a two tone blue and white, V&H true duals which have the exact sound I am looking for, apes, and no payment. I have put a lot of time and money in upgrading and maintaining and guess you could say I'm attached!

Went to the local dealership for some rain gear and sitting there was a pretty new 2015 Road Glide Special. I got permission from the Mrs. to take a test ride and oh damn. I loved it. The GPS, the 103, the new front end, larger wheel, the fairing!, the everything about it is awesome and I really do like it, a lot. Now the question is this: Do I spend the money to punch my motor out to a 98" with head work (~$4,000), or trade mine in, use the $4k/$5k to add on to a down payment and get the 2015? I'm really torn here and don't know what to do.

What has been your experience with "parting with your baby?"

Thanks guys for any and all input!
Be safe out there

I miss my heritage and I'll have another one someday as a second bike, but I'll always have a road glide as my primary bike. Convince your better half that she wants to learn to ride and keep the king too, everybody wins........

Default I did it and I'm very happy

Just went through the same thing and ended up trading a 03 heritage on a 15 SGS. Had it about a month and just ready to hit 1 k miles. It's a lot of money but I am crazy about the new bike. I'm older and the kids are gone so I have the disposable income and time to ride now. Very happy with the decision but it did take me about a year to do it.

A couple of years ago, I sold my Springer softail to the local dealership. I already had a newly purchased RK and I wasn't riding it very much, so I sold it. I did buy a hot tub and some new rims with the money. But it ate up that I sold that bike, it ate me so bad, that I bought a CVO Springer softail a year and a half later. So, now I have a RG and a CVO Springer softail and couldn't be happier...

This one is easy........call the dealer, tell him to add a cam, intake, exhaust and tune......bundle it up in the payment and you'll never even feel it.......hahaha!

I know.....you'll thank me later!

Roadie that's what I said! She didn't buy it though and only wants to be a passenger...god knows why...

JT, I was thinking about that one too - seems like something that might not be a bad deal
