I tried trading my 13 RK, but was getting lowball offers from dealers. So I advertised it and sold it within a week. I then emailed 7 dealers within 100 miles of me and explained I was looking to buy a 15 RG, and asked them to give me their BEST price, one time, one shot, no negotiating. I received 4 returned emails. The 4 prices all over the place most around invoice, but 1 was a GREAT deal.
The dealer I bought the 13 RK from asked if I would be so kind as to give him a shot at beating "the best price" when all was done. I showed him the pricing, and he said "that's a good buy.. congrats enjoy it. Get me one too"
I took delivery 5/19/15
I believe you. I did similiar for my new bike but I actually went to the dealers and told them the same thing. I'll even name the dealers, no harm in that. I don't understand why people seem to be afraid to name a dealer. Mountain Creek HD in Dalton was close, but then Atlanta Harley Davidson beat Mountain Creek by 3K on my 2015 CVO Road Glide. Anyone want my salesmans name ? I get a referral so ask away, they are dealing in Atlanta, the 2016's are on the way and they need the 15's gone.
Hey OP, lets see some pics of the 07. Show it off. Lets see what you traded for.
If the 07 doesn't make you happy then I would go down the local moped dealer, get one with a basket on the front so you can put your boombox in and see what ticks you off about that. You must have money growing on a tree at your house because I would have never took a $7500 lose!
Here's my version of the story. The guy with the 07 RK, never rode it cuz he wanted ABS, linked brakes, radio with nav, batwing fairing with less turbulence, ez open saddlebags, six speed, little bigger displacement, and a smoother, more stable ride.
