Great outcome... glad you're back to riding without issues.
Did you figure out the tuner + new ECM deal?
Just wondering how that part played out.
Tuner didn't pair with the new ecm, something about a license, typical technology crap. Ripoff that I just bought it in May and now it's useless. We just left it with the stock setup now and it runs just fine, making me wonder why I ever bought the tuner in the first place.
I recently got a replacement ECM (under warranty) and have Powervision. They have a process to allow you to use your tuner with a replacement ECM at no cost. I'm sure if you have another brand, there is way to accomplish it...if you want to.
FWIW my problem similar to yours, came back a couple of times but seems to have cleared up for now. Just came back from a little 2,000 mile trip and not a hiccup.

Depending on the tuner, you can get a new license. This is so a person can't just purchase a tuner and start loading maps on all his friend's bikes. Shops can purchase multi-bike licenses and individuals can get additional licenses so when they change bikes can continue using tuner.
Thanks for the info guys. I pressed them pretty hard and it sounded like there was no possible way. Could be that they don't know how to do it and don't wanna learn. I still have the tuner so maybe sometime I can try another shop

What tuner is it? If you have after market Mufflers and a high flow air cleaner you should have a tuner or your bike will run too lean and that could hurt the engine.
Geno
I would call the HD Tech line at 1-800 258-2464 and explain your situation.
Hope they will help you out.
Even if the bike is running good it could be running very lean and creating temps you don't want to see.
If they won't help you out we are running the DynoJet PV2's on our bikes and recommend them highly.
Good Luck
Bill
If the bike can't keep the oxygen sensor in a specific range due to add ons, the check engine light should come on with a lean or rich code for the oxygen sensor. This happens once the maximum correction is reached and the fuel trims are still not corrected.
