I'm OK with the deal -- these puppies cost way too much, but I'm OK with that. No, my surprise was the ride comfort. I had convinced myself that the SG was for me and why not just do it? I'm glad I made the 100 mile lunch run on the SG 'cause it told me a lot. My RK Custom is a great ride and the SG felt much the same, just had the cool fairing. The EGC, however, was significantly smoother, IMHO. So, after a short ride, I made the decision. I wasn't even remotely thinking EG a week ago! I love my RK and I'm gonna miss it, but the prospect of getting on the new EGC is causing me to lose some sleep! (That's part of what has me in a daze...I'm happy with the RK, so what the heck am I doing...!)
I have so much bling on the RK -- now, I have to start all over again. Damn...! <g>
I'm glad to see this reponse. I've already been looking at the removable Tour Pak kit. Maybe I'll learn to love it, as well. I could buy other bling with what I don't spend on it. Hope to pick up the bike in a day or so.

You did the right thing. You will be happy every time you ride. I went in thinking I was going to buy a RK. After about a week of looking I decided on an Ultra. I thought for sure that I was going to convert my Tour Pak to a removable one. I just thought I would never need it. Man I even love that thing! I use it all the time even around town. Just handy to throw all my "stuff" in. I have ridden my share of bikes and this one is a LOT different in ride quality. I recommend getting a driver backrest. Set the tunes, set the cruise, lean back and enjoy the ride!
That Tour Pak is addictive; get the detachable right away or you will be hooked for good. LOL
I have mine on a detachable rack, but if I leave it on the bike for more than a couple of rides it becomes harder and harder to take it off.
Congrats on the EG Classic; nice color choice, too. A good friend of mine bought a new '06 Classic and loves it, and recently spent a week with a Street Glide tuning it--so he got some good riding on the bike and found the ride to be much different than the Classic.
I bought an '07 FLHTC a month ago. I figured I'd toss the tour pack in the garage right awayand only bolt it on for long trips. I didn't do it immediately and now I doubt I'll EVER take it off. I'm used to the looks by now and the thing is just too handy to do without.
