Default Muffler problems

So I have a 93 Ultra Tour Glide and this winter I put true dual head pipes on it so I thought it would be nice to install a set of new mufflers. My choice through a great deal was a set of Screaming Eagle Canons, very loud but doable, thinking of doing the baffles to quite them down.

Default Loud Mufflers

Question is how can I tune down the sound, thinking about new baffles so I don't have to buy yet another set of mufflers, these are great at idle or just cruising but when I get on it or going up a hill everyone behind me has to back off a 1/4 mile.

Odd, I have the same ones but they aren't anywhere near what I would call loud. Folks behind me know when I am on the throttle or engine braking, but I have been told that they are not annoyingly loud like other mufflers. Did you buy them new? Then again I still have the stock header and cat, so perhaps not having a cat will make a difference in how loud they are.

Yes, I bought them new and this winter changed the pipes to true duals, the 93 didn't have a cat that I know of so this could be a difference.

Sounds about right. Looking forward to getting the new head pipe without a cat!

Don't get rid of your old ones if you go the route to new without a cat you might not like the increase in sound and I'm a little worried about grabbing the unneeded attention of the law.

Street cannons are not loud.

They do have a nice tone to them...

But I would not call then loud at all.

They meet epa standards for noise in all 50 states. Loud? Uh.... no.

I did the same thing. I drove a 2015 with screamin eagles on it and loved the sound. I have an 2007 with cobra true duals and put street cannons on and it does not sound anything like what I was hoping for. very loud as you described. I don't think they make quieter baffles for street cannons.
