Would say it's either a loose connection or the regulator because you have voltage. When a stator goes, it dosen't produce voltage and the voltage drops as the battery drains.

I had the exact same symptoms on my way to Laconia. Replaced regulator, problem solved. 2012 Street Glide

Pop off your derby cover. If it smells worse than anything else you've smelled before, it's telling you your stator is fried.

Just replaced my voltage regulator 2weeks ago. 250 bucks installed at the HD dealer. Back to normal now.

nice price.....can't go wrong with that. barely over cost of the regulator.

Bad stator. Luckily I made it to a dealer in Casper WY 5 hours ( they were packed) then to Salt Lake City long night
