Default Stage one

I have a stock 2013 Road King Police. I have one newby question. If I go with stage one (air intake, Freer flowing pipes) will it tend to improve or degrade my mileage? I'm not entirely happy with my mileage now and don't want to degrade it.

Thanks,

Steve Hastings

degrade ... pretty much anything you do to your bike from stock will make it worse in most cases when it comes to gas milage. only thing you can really do is have it dynoed and have them lean it out. that is a double edged sword though.

edit.... also don't forget if you do pipes and intake you need a tuner just didn't see it in your list don't forget that. or you can get a flash.

I've heard some say they got better mileage after the tune. if you ride for mileage I wouldn't think it'd be that big a change either way. I also hear they run cooler after a tune too due to the epa tune from the factory. I have an 05 with an 88, I have a stage one an I'm happy with the mileage.

Mine picked up around 4 MPG after doing a stage 1, I think it frees up the bike some and makes it more efficient. It transformed mine but it depends on the tuner and the parts you use.

On my 2012 Ultra, I got the same MPG but had much more power at the top end.

A tuner with auto tuning and a good Fuel mapping should do it, just get out and Ride the Bike.
