Runs fine for a while after you stop, so it cools down a bit, my guess is your taking in some air in that line and its not bad fuel. bottle of soapy water is an easy tool to locate that one.

We ran all over the area last week with no problems. Did 5500 miles over the course of 2 weeks and had good luck with fuel except 1 small station in the middle of nowhere Kansas that only had 87 regular. With a million bikes in the area it might not be usual for a few fuel pumps go bad.

I try to fill up in a high volume area because they get a fresh load of gas every few days. That country store is not usually the place to get fueled up, unless you have to-- I used to have a station😐

Just got back from Sturgis. 800 plus miles out 3800 miles there and 800 plus miles back.

Only fuel issue was when i let the tank get low enough for the light to come on. Sputtering at high speed. Once filled up problem went away.

Heat and low fuel levels could be a cause

How many miles and how old is your fuel filter. Just replaced mine at 25,000 miles and was amazed at how dirty it was. Could be some extra ethanol picked up some extra dirt and gunked up your filter. Was the fuel pump pressure check static or with the engine running?

What year bike ----2009 and 2010 are having fuel induction module problems - just like you described - first they thought it was the plug but turns out it the module only thing you have to replace the whole unit not just a module.

There may be another cause. The elevation in the Hills and Wyoming is between 4 and 6 thousand feet so there is about a 20 percent drop in available oxygen.

The net effect is the bike will seem to be running rich. The answer is run lower octane which will burn more fully and run smoother.

E10 had nothing to do with it or any of the stations were you filled up.

I have run higher elevations (10.5) and never had a gas problem. Would run 89 - 93 and was never an issue out west.
