I had one of these on my 2012 Super Glide. It worked great with downloads.
My question is from my understanding that a competent tuner could take a FP3 and tune your bike using a dyno. Has anyone tried this? Is it actually possible?
Yep I had it done. Challenge is most tuners won't even look at it or try which is a shame.
Guy I used wanted to experiment and he felt that it was fully functional and had all the capabilities of the other tuners people use. Challenge is the input, most guys are used to keyboard/mouse, etc. I brought my ipad with me to the tune session so that I could input ve's based on what he wanted. We used his PV for data logging (which the fp3 doesn't currently offer), then I'd hook up the FP3, make the changes, flash the ecm, then go back to the PV hook up to see how we were faring, rinse, and repeat. Certainly takes longer doing it that way but I felt it smoothed out the power band nicely.
FWIW though, the map V&H built for me coupled with some auto tunes was surprisingly close overall. He got me an additional 4-5 ft lbs in HP/TQ but the biggest differences were in smoothness. We did VE's and AFR's only, no spark, or other changes.
Thanks Robby. Have a tuner locally here that says he can use one to dyno a bike. I assume he's on the level. I'll be checking him out when I get ready. Your Bob is looking great. Sometimes miss my Super....but not for long.

Thanks!
Yeah every now and again I catch myself eyeing a touring bike but then I remind myself that I don't need one! Would love to try one out though
