My road king goes into the shop for adjustments on Thursday. Now I hear about the heat (and experienced it, runs hell of a lot hotter than my old Honda. but air cooled vs liquid etc. anyway.
got a decent check from a car I sold that had gap coverage and can get a few extras put on Thursday.
IWhat the hell should I get to make the bike sound better, run cooler etc. I want to go in tomorrow and buy whats needed for Thursday. I have an 07 road king standard.
I will do the research for the part numbers but want to hand the guys a list like:
part # 29773-02C - Screamin' EagleĀ® Stage I Kit for EFI Models
part # 64985-07 - Screamin' EagleĀ® Street Performance Touring Mufflers
instead of the mufflers do I want the:
part# 80491-07 Screamin' EagleĀ® Street Performance Slip-On Mufflers - One Piece
Trying to stick with Harley parts so I dont void any warranty
care to help me, please? [&:]
RE: help me, please. slip ons? stage one kit? etc etc
Any combination of : Free flowing Aircleaner, Fuel Inj controller & Performance style mufflers, if installed & set up correctly, will definately enhance the overall fun factor, sound factor & reduce the heat of your stocker. If you want to go w/ HDs stuff... then do so.
Ask the shop guys if they have any customers bikes in there that have the mufflers you want to use.. go and listen to them...

Sorry to highjack your thread but perhaps others have this same question......
Can someone explain the differences between a download, a SERT, and a PCIII??? I think I know most of the information but I am not sure. I bought a used bike recently and it has true duals and aftermarket pipes and intake mods but had not been "reflashed" with any but the factory load. Isa SERT just a flash download to configure the ECM? Or is there more to this?
RE: help me, please. slip ons? stage one kit? etc etc
Zen,
At purchase time, my dealer offered me slip-ons from SE, V&H, Rinehart, Rush and others. As others have stated, they won't void your warranty and will make you a much happier owner.

For about $700-$800, you can get all the stuff I have listed in my sig from FuelMotousa.com . Ask Jamie to pre load the map, awesome sound and power.

If it were me I would go with the Rush slip-on mufflers. They sound much better than the SE slip-ons and will not void the warranty. If you do not intend on doing any more engine mods you could also look at teh Vance & Hines Fuelpak as an otion to tune the ECM after you install the mufflers and A/C. The Fuelpak does not require you to eliminate the o2 sensors like the PCIII and I don't think you will be able to find a SERT right now. Also the FP is VERY easy to install yourself and since it uses the o2's I think it would be the most warranty safe route.
RE: help me, please. slip ons? stage one kit? etc etc
well I shelled out a few bones.
going with the stage 1 which will be installed tomorrow. got a screaming eagle breather, getting the "high flow anddownload" or whatever its called (still learning the terms)
ordered Vance and Hines ovals slip ons. damn, they sound good! will be here in 7 to 10 days.
