Default Replacing throttle grommet

My bike is 12 years old, so things like my throttle grommet are splitting. I see on Ronnie's Parts finder it is a cheap part, but what would be involved in replacing it?

I do have a service manual, but was just wondering if someone has done it here. I took the front fairing off once to check the brackets, but was by myself and couldn't release the headlight clips, so I never actually got it apart. Do people usually have a helper to get the fairing off, or they are just smarter than me?
