When I can get rid of $400 a month of other shyt I have financed, you bet I will.

I'll be close next spring. Not going over budget for it. (Now...if they had come out with one in white?....I'd probably have figured out a way)

Can't you special order that from the CVO? Of course, that raises the price and the corresponding payments..........

My sales guy has called me every year since I purchased my 2011 to upgrade. But I agree with the OP, nothing since ABS has made me want or need a new one!

Here's what I do....I don't test ride new ones. I have mine personalized just to my liking and it does everything I want it to do. The only thing that bugs me is I can't fit a late model rear wheel and tire.

Oh yeah, the old Evo's sound good. There was a fellow that rode into the open house on a 1959 Panhead chopper. He got more attention than the 2016 models did and there was a group gathered around that chopper looking at it, talking to him, taking pictures of it and drooling over it. Now, if you want to hear a nice sounding Harley, that old Pan was it!

Minor point, but Mustang doesn't actually do leather.
Their website used to have a section called "why we don't do leather" but I'm not sure if it's still there.
I have a Mustang (that I thought was leather) and it's been a damn fine product.

My wife and I talked about it this morning over breakfast. And while we do like the styling and the extra room that the newer ones got, we like our "classic" Electra Glides too. And our "classics" are paid for.

Things like the sound system - ehhhhhhh - my wife says she don't really care about that. The muted rumble of the Big Twin and the scenery going by while she takes pictures or shoots some video, or whatever, is what she likes.

Evidently Mustang makes a leather seat for our older Evos that changes the seating position on the pillion with different shaped foam so she doesn't have that "sliding forward" feeling back there. So we're going to look into one of those, maybe look into relocating the King Tour-Pak back an inch to get the room the new ones got, and stick with our older 'Glides another year. I just bought the '86 and that bike only has 20,000 miles on it. Our '89 is getting up over 90,000 and we'll probably sell that one and make the mods to the '86.

Our '86 is a Standard and it has no lowers on it. I actually like that better for warm weather riding. But would like some lowers on it for cooler weather riding in the fall - and we plan on taking a 2,000 mile trip yet in September. So I'm going to look into getting some lowers for it for those days when the weather is beautiful, but temps in the high 50's.

So that's what we decided for this year. We got an almost new Evo 'Glide that's not even broke in yet. Make a few mods to it so it has the creature comforts of the newer ones, and go ride the hell out of it and enjoy the fact that we own it and don't have no payments on it.
Maybe a set of soft lowers you can snap on and off for about a hundred bucks?
