Default led lights

hello
I am running led lights to turn on for looks I am going to put a fuse link in the hot wire what size fuse should I use so it will blow if need to

as low a value as possible, as close to the switch or battery as you can- do you know the current draw of the leds?

the leds kit may have a "watt" rating- watts is a measure of electrical consumption- not light making ability.

If your led kit was "10 watts" that would work out to .83 amps at 12 volts...so a 1 amp rated fuse would be good

if not you can find out by putting a multimeter in series with the leds before install to test. use the meter in ammeter mode which usually uses the same negative probe, but may have a different position for the positive probe.

I have installed several LED light kits from different manufacturers and all in my memory serves me correct all used a 5 amp inline fuse.
