Default LRS question

I'm going to be ordering a LRS this weekend since they are doing a great sale. My question is about the material............is the elite version worth the price increase over the standard?

I've never had any issues with other brands standard version, so I'm curious if the elite version offers anything that makes it much better.

Thanks,

Steve

It's made of a different material that's more resistant to scratches. That's why it costs more, only you can decide whether or not it's worth it. 2+ years on mine and no bug marks or scratches on mine yet.

Actually, it's less prone to being shattered.

Default LRS question

Buy once cry once. The poly is much better for standing up to cleaning bug guts on the road. A lot more forgiving to getting scratched. On the other hand once it's scratched you can't polish it out. The acrylic is soft like butter and scratches easily. It needs to be polished out occasionally to restore its clarity.

My plan is to get the 10" flattop Elite....with the great sale and shipping, it will be like $80.

I'm trying to reduce wind noise in my ears, my hearing damage makes the wind noise a major problem if I don't wear ear plugs. I'm hoping the added width of the flattop will help with that.

I'm currently using a 9" recurve.......so the extra 1" of height should help too.

OP - I had to get your avatar off the screen so I could even read the question! I think that's the best 1 I've seen.

I haven't had the regular, but on my 2nd Elite now and they seem to be really durable. With the sale it's really not much more and I think it's worth it.

Yup, this sale is crazy. $150 shield for $60......that's unreal. $20 shipping sucks, but still a great deal overall.
