Getting ready to buy new exhaust for my 08 Ultra (Rhinehardt True Duals), what are your opinions?
Off Topic:
So, What are you going to do w/ that sweet ride you had in Korea? How's the states treating you? I got orders to Texas in the fall. I look you up when I get there.
I've got a stock motor and installed my Rinehart TD's a couple of monhths ago. Really like them. My stock exhaust header had cracked where the crossover pipe attached, so I had to change anyway and didn't see any good reason to keep the crossover pipe -- I'm not a speed demon anyway so a little torque loss is not big thing to me. Getting rid of the crossover pipe really opened up the space behind the rear cylinder.
Only thing you might check into is that some of our bikes have developed "chirps or squeaks" that some say are coming from the baffles. I've checked everything and tightened every bolt and nut on the bike, as well as lubed the rubber inserts on the exhasut brackets, but still squeaks. You might do a search on it, but it was a recent post. My original baffles didn't have this problem, but when I changed them out with the Quiet Baffles which did fit loose when installed, mine have developed the same squeak. I've sent a note to Bub Tech Support to see what they have to say. Someone here said they slightly bent the inlet on the baffles and pounded them in for a tight fit, and it stopped the squeak. I'd imagine Bub would be working on a fix as well.
Anyway, not a big deal, just something for you to be aware of. Otherwise, great quality and sound. Would I buy them again -- yeah.
THANKS for military service is always called for. It is great that you love what you do, but a lot of civi's have no idea what it is like to serve. For me, it was nice knowing I was doing my part for a country that I love. That was my 'thanks'. A day never goes by whenI don't think about you guys still in service. My children and wife will never know what it is like to not have me home every night. So, if you have a family, THANK them for me!
Also, since you are a bit in the know. Do you have any information on the '08 models? There is a lot of speculation, but nothing confirmed. Take care of you and yours. And come home safe!
