I tried a search on RC 4.5 inch slipons and all I got was a thread on a PV. Anyone have experience with these and how do they sound? I know someone with the 4 inch and sound ok. Not really satisfied with the MGS mufflers I have now.
I have the 4.5's and love them. They have a deep tone with catless headers and I get many compliments on the sound.
Had the 4.5 installed with their new Tormentor head pipe installed on my wife's 2016 RGS!
They are Thunderous! Fact of the matter....wife complained of a rattle....they are so thunderous that the left saddlebag lid is rattling!!!! Is there any adjustment to tighten the lid on the bag??
They sound awesome but might not be mellow enough at cruising speed??
The Dyno numbers could have been better. ....
Stock.....74hp-----92 tq
after.....80hp----99 tq .......The tuner is WAY GOOD ON THE DYNO!
Screaming Eagle breather and Race Tuner with the RCX stuff
I have the RCs on mine and really like it. I had the Screamin' Eagle 2's on an older Wide Glide and really liked those however these definitely have a much deeper sound overall. They are more "mellow" at idle than the SE's, but it's a truly sweet sound either way and once you really get on the throttle it sounds terrific!
I put the RC 4.5's on my 16 RGU and they made a very nice sound. The stock mufflers were too quiet, but these RC 4.5's sounded very good. Nice deep tone but not loud.
A week ago I installed FuelMoto Jackpot 2-1-2 SS pipes. Now the bike is much louder, almost too loud. Same great deep sound, but on the highway at 70+ the roar is very noticeable and really effects listening to music.
BTW, bike is running well with the head pipes and RC's, so I guess the ECM is doing a reasonable job adjusting for the changes for now.
I plan on tuning the bike soon (buying a TTS Mastertune) and will see if that makes any difference, but don't expect the sound to change much.
