So I bought myself a CustomChrome Frenched Trim Ring with Visor for my Road King. I was quite excited about mounting up this new, beautiful trim ring, but when I went to seat it, the spring steel wire that fits in the top of the trim ring wasn't quite fitting. So, in my infinite genius, I decided that the best course of action would be to bend the wire to fit better. Out comes two pliers. In seconds, I had it bent.
So in Germany, there's a saying when working with nuts and bolts: "First comes tight, then comes loose." Same situation here with the wire. I went past the gentle bend point and right on to broken.
Bottom line, I need a new wire to go inside my trim ring to make it mount.
