I had my 06 done 3 weeks ago, have to thank the forum members for the heads up. I still haven'treceived a letter fromthe dealer where I bought my bike. I go to another dealer now who was more than happy to switch it out while I waited.
I did... I went in to have a shock replaced and I asked about the regulator to be checked and I would make an appointment.... they just changed it then...
I started having problems this week with it and will be taking it in on the 15th. They are booked until then because ofMyrtle Beach bike rally next week. I usually get in anytime during the same week I call.
I ride it for a while and the voltage will drop to battery level (12v +/-1) and runfor several miles like that before itpops back up to 14-15vdc. Twoof the 5 or 6times I lost stator power the check engine light and batter light came on. Other than that and voltage indicator, I would never have known thatthere was a problem. The bike continues to run on battery with no problems. Have no choice than to deal with it until the appointment since it's my daily ride for work. Also have to have them check couple other items. The check engine light has been coming back on after bike runs for several seconds, then going out. Wondering if that has been the regulator starting to fail.
