To answer the question about "wiggle room" - My understanding is that the dealers are not allowed to sell a new bike for less than the MSRP until the next model year comes out, and then they can adjust depending on inventory. That being said - dealers can add to the price, including shipping & handling, & the dreaded "dealer prep". The MoCO does not require them to charge those. The most wiggle room you will see is on a trade in, as dealer allowances for your old bike will vary a great deal, sometimes hundreds of dollars. In fact, some dealers use the margin on the new bike to allow "full retail" on trade-ins, and still turn a profit. If you're trading, it definitely pays to visit several dealers, and let them know you are shopping around. The point about throw-ins is a good one. Gift cards of $1,000 or more can be a part of the deal, and you should ask for one. They make a profit on those as well, depending on what merchandise you buy with it, that $1,000 gift card may only actually cost them $400-$500. Also, just like cars, the best time to buy is at the end of the month or end of the year, when the dealership is trying to make a quota. Hope this helps. And - what the hell is an ESP, and why are we recommending it to a guy who asked about buying a Harley?
I went in to my local dealer tonight and test rode a road glide the price was 21 something and he said out the door would be 24 but I talked him to 22 out the door the only thing I didn't like was the 10 percent interest idk why so high I have amazing credit so it doesn't make since

I also agree that the Credit Union is the best way to go. I just checked with my local CU and with excellent credit, auto monthly payments on a 48 month loan....1.74%. 60 months, 1.99%, 66 months, 2.29% and 72 months, 2.49%.
Esp' are a big money maker, wbuy more importantly it's what you are comfortable with. I put 102,000 miles on my flht. And 25k on my current bike and never buy an esp. If I have to replace something I want to replace from a company I want and replace it myself. Again not bashing just a peronal choice. Be patient and you will get the price that fits you!
