My wife is pretty tiny and we're looking to move her sissybar/backrest/pad forward about 2 inches on my 2012 Road King Classic. It's a standard height detachable HD Sissy Bar that locks into the 4 point mounting dock. I was hoping for a mechanical fix/standard part, rather than bending the metal.
I would probably add a spacer(s) between the bar and pad to push it forward. You would need longer bolts to reattach. If I were doing it, I would try to find some way to use either thick rubber washer or bushing type spacers to help isolate the pad from vibration. I don't know about your pad, but my backrest is extremely "buzzy" at highway speeds.

Spacing the sissy bar pad would be pretty difficult i imagine because the sissy bar fits into the sissy bar pad. My GF is pretty tiny as well and doesn't lean on the pad most of the time because she can't get a good hold on me.
i think the best way is to modify the pad to make it thicker and recover. i haven't gone this route yet as it think it'll be pretty ugly
