Came across a seller selling a pair of extended bags for about $700 Unpainted, primed ready to be painted. However, I don't know if it will be worth getting them because by the time these bags get painted they could exceed what Harley wants for them. Don't know how much it will cost to get them done right but I'm looking for suggestion, advice, guidance..
Went to local dealer to inquire about a set of lower fairings and extended bags by the time I left I had a quote exceeding the 2k mark ;( sometime like $2200 total... Ouch!!! Trying to save some money but???
Just a couple pics of my sgs with harley extended bags and lowers. Remember if you have a special, then you'll want the pin stripes on the bags. Don't know if you have that priced into getting them painted.
I'm contemplating adding extended bags to my RK and came across these:http://www.ebay.com/itm/121716765480
Since my bike is black I wouldn't have to invest in a paint job. I like the HD product but it is so expensive and like you, I'm on a budget.
Decisions….Decisions….
IMO, $700 for a set of used bags ins't a good deal at all. Lot better/nicer looking options out there (e.g. Milwaukee Bagger, Top Shop, Sumax, Bad Dad, etc.). Also, CVO stretched bags just barely cover the pipes (not very stretched/never liked the look). Better option to pass and go with after-market...JMO.
I got cvo style bags from V-Twin manufacturing off Eastern Performance website for $350. Minimal prep to paint and great quality. My bikes an 09 but they should the 14-15 style bags out by now. Worth a look.
