Default Tach question?

Ok so taking a spin on the bike yesterday to check out my Baker Comp install I noticed something strange to me. I was in the lower gears running up through the RPM range paying attention to sounds or lack there of. That stock Comp was the root of several strange noises in my motor. Anyway I have the Fuel Moto 107 kit that Jamie put in. They set the red line at about 6,200 RPM. The motor pulled hard up to the rev limiter, but the tach needle stopped cold at 5500 RPM. So I tried it aging to see if I saw things right. Yes motor kept pulling past where the needle stopped. Now I have to admit I have only bounced off the limiter a couple times on this bike and while doing so was watching the road and not the tach. But this don't sound normal to me. Bike is a 2010 Limited 103 with FM 107 kit. Is it standard for the tach to stop or do I have an issue? Maybe a sending sensor or whatever drives the tach.

On Power Commanders TBW models with RevXtend ebabled the PC-V drives the ignition above 5200 rpm and the tach stops just over 5k

It's always something when it comes to modifications. The trouble is, you don't find out what "something" is until after you're committed.

Thanks guys. Just so that is standard operating and not something broke I can live with it. I don't run up there much anyway. If it is a product of the PC V then it has been that way for years and I never knew it. Even when getting on it I shift at 4,500-5,000 max anyway.
