OK, did a search and didnt find what I am looking for. Next would be to start calling around but the shops are closed now and I need to get my bike together. 2011 RK. Just installed 14" apes and clutch cable is too short...yes I thought I would try to make it work before buying more parts. Anywho, can you recommend the length I should go with, would like to route through nacelle but not a big deal. Any specific manufacturers or what not I could start my search with. Thanks in advance guys. Been working on it all day and just hoping you will help me out so I don't have to spend a ton of time researching. would like to get the part asap and power has been out here in Seattle off and on for a couple days so its hard to get computer time.
Get a piece of string and route it the way you want it to run. Cut string and measure it. Compare it stock, +8 or so should work I think. Leave enough slack for turning.haha
Last time.e I bought cables were from hill country cycles. They did me right. May even just call them and explain what you need.
I read on Magnum website that stock is 62 11/16. I will check with string but can anyone confirm. Plus 8 so far...think that will be too long for 14" apes? Anyone recommend a brand/finish would be fantastic!

Thanks!
Hey OP...I recently installed 14" apes on my RKC and went with Drag Specialties 74" cable. Seems to be of good quality, so far so good. I do feel I could have went with a shorter cable though but not a big deal...
Not sure why or how you would be able to route it thru the Nacelle though??
It's a thick cable and doesn't have a whole lot of "give" for sharp bends...good luck!
Thanks guys. Disconnected, routed, and measured missing length per 89FLHTC method. Why didn't I think of that. Greatful you guys helped out. +6 would work, going with +8.
I did +8" with 16" Carlini's (which are closer to 17's) and it was fine. I think you'll be fine with +6. You don't want a ton of cable flopping in the wind or binding up behind your shield if you want to run the shield with your apes.

I have 14" Wild 1's. I have HD diamondback braided cables. The clutch cable goes through the nacelle with a black sheeth over it for protection. This sheeth is only over the cable in the nacelle area and is barely noticeable. This is my second clutch cable with the apes since the first one was splitting open from rubbing on a sharp edge next to the front fork. I like going through the nacelle better, cable is cleaner looking and not as floppy.
