Default Throttle/fly by wire grip questions

I have a 09 ultra classic that the previous owner installed kuryakyn iso grips on. Not sure how long they have been on there, but the rubber I think is going bad or something because my gloves stick to the grips and if I ride without gloves, I get black marks on my hands from the rubber on the grips. So I am wanting to replace them with some different grips.

I was told by a tech at my local dealer that I could put grips on from any 08 and newer bike that had throttle by wire, including 2016 models.

My question is, when I look online at the part numbers for the 2009s and the 2014, 2015 and 2016, the newer bikes have a different part number for the throttle by wire grips compared to the part number for my 2009. Will the grips off of a newer model bike not work or will they work and harley just gave the newer grips a new part number? Just want to be sure before I order new grips. Thanks

Its my understanding there are no differences between the older models and newer model TBW grips.
Which grips were you looking at - maybe someone else can chime in....

I was looking the stock grips just for reference on the part numbers but was maybe thinking about some kind of metal or aluminum grips so I don't have to worry about rubber wearing out.

Can't offer any help on parts or fitting but I can say metal grips would get cold fast if you ride in colder weather.

Not really a throttle by wire question.

Look at grips that you like. Then check their fitment with your bike. Contact the manufacturer if necessary. Most websites group parts by the years and models they fit.

That's the only thing I am worried about, that and the metal grips would get hot from the bike sitting outside in the sun.

Maybe I should have titled it throttle by wire grip questions.
But if you don't get the right grips, the throttle by wire won't work, so they are kinda related I think
