What mirrors with apes?

Default What mirrors with apes?
Ok, I've seen (mostly in pictures) just about every combination possible with regard to apes and rear view mirrors. I've seen them above the apes, below the apes, and mounted in the faring.

So for you guys with apes, which position gives you the best look to the rear and to the side? I know that the cleanest look is probably faring mounted mirrors. But I am concerned that the function of the mirrors will not be very good there. And what HD has for faring mounted mirrors seems to be cheap plastic. I notice that Kury has options that appear to be better built.

Anyway, thanks for any input.

I have 12" apes on my Ultra Classic with mirrors mounted on the top of the bars. The visibility in my mirrors is very good. With that being said, it's the only ape/mirror combination I've tried.

I put 10" Wild One apes and Willie G mirrors above. My first handlebar swap and I'm happy with them.

Same here......WO 578's and Willie G mirrors on top and can see great.

I'm a fan of the below the bar method - it's a lot like having them in your fairing...

They are 12" Yaffe Monkey bagger bars - but they actually measure closer to 14" in height

I added Ness mirrors mounted on top. I like this placement the most. Great view.

Does your arms get in the way of the view or is the angle of view good enough to see around your arms?
