Default Old Rubber Fuel Lines

My 2005 Road King has just developed a leak in the rubber fuel line connecting the fuel valve to the carburetor. I am speculating that it simply dry-rotted over time and cracked, so I will need to replace the hose. I am wondering if I need to replace other rubber lines such as the cross-over line for the tank as a preventive measure while the bike is down. The bike has 103k miles on it, but I plan to put a lot more miles on it.

Any thoughts?

Tygon is about the best fuel lines you can buy and found at most auto parts stores.
Only problem is, the only color it comes in is green.

Fuel line is available at any Auto parts supply place and cheap. If you are draining the tank anyway, piece of mind says do the crossover as well. Also do all new clamps. Probably spend less than $10 and no worries for another 103k miles.

New fuel lines should be rated for alcohol too - change them all, as time consuming as it may be to drain the tank, it's worth it.

If and when the balance pipe develops a leak, there is no option but to drain the tank, if there is any gas left in it! Might as well do it at the same time.

Good feedback, folks. It does make sense to replace all the rubber lines as long as the tank has to be drained.

Wise choice! You can turn off the gas tap, but can't stop the balance pipe leaking, once it starts. That's a real fire hazard.....

Tygon withstands all chemicals including ethanol better than plain old rubber.

How does tygon stand up to UV? does it get yellow and brittle? I'd use fuel line because you know it's made for the application.

If you haven't replaced the fuel filter it would be a good time to do it.
