Default Advice on engine modification

Hey all,
I was looking for some advice on cams fod my stock 09 sg. I am looking to also move to the 106 kit at the same time. Any help with cam lift to achieve best results?

Reach out to Fuel Moto or Hillside; both sponsors of this site. If you're going to go with a 106" or a 107" at the same time, there's far more to the total equation than just the cam that you choose, and neither one will lead you down a rabbit hole.

You should give Scott at Hillside cycles and machine a call. They have a great reputation and he is on this forum as well. They are located in NY. Try posting in the engine mechanical forum as well

I would suggest you consider massaging the heads. Especially since they will already be off the bike. Depending on compression/cam situation you may need compression releases anyways.

It would be a shame to save a few hundred while that deep and leave some cheap HP on the table. Heads pay dividends in spades. If I was on a budget I would at least look into a street port with 1.9" Intake valves and compression releases.

To save money you could also forego the adjustable push rods(but I wouldn't) as long as the base circle is stock on the cam and you don't mill too much off the heads. Thats another $200 to put towards the heads.
