Default best engine mod?

Hey all. I'm starting to do some research for my winter mods, mostly because I have to start saving up for them, lol. So I never get the same answer twice: what is your biggest bang for your buck when it comes to power? I already have good pipes and air cleaner, so now it's time to take the engine apart. Heads? Cams? 103? Let me know what you think. And as much as I'd love to, I can't do them all at once. I just had my a$$ handed to me by a 95 with cams and head work, so I have to get my 96 up to speed...

First step with a limited budget would be the cam, something you may wanna tackle yourself. How much you have to spend, and who's doin the work will determine what you can do over the winter. You may wanna post this question on the engine/fuel/intake/exhaust tech forum to get the best cam for your riding style. Lotta smart dudes hanging out there. Good luck.

A cam after U've done the stg1 on a 96 will wake her up.....and cool her down...

most will net U 90+Tq and around 80Hp.... depend on cam where U want the curve to be...

If U want over 100TQ then the 103 BB kit with cams

If u want over 110 TQ then do the 103 BB kit and have Ur heads reworked...

If you are doing a cam you might as well punch it out to a 103 as well. This is where most people think they might as well do the heads as well. It really all depends on budget and if you are doing the work or someone else.

My ride only has cams for now, but the next major will be a 95" build and a different set of cams. Sometime in the next year.
