Default Engine Upgrade Advice

I ride a 2007 Road King with approx.52,000 on it,last Winter I upgraded cams (andrews 48h) which improved the power and torque. Now,I am wanting to add 103 cylinders, and possibly more cam such as cyclerama 575,or something similiar.
My question is is the miles on my engine too many for these upgrades? Engine is very sound, and runs well, already have s&s aircleaner, brocks 2 into 1 exhaust, and I run an FP3 tuner...thanks in advance!

If it was my money I would start fresh with a complete build bottom up. 50k ain't really that many miles if you have taken care of your bike . I would also call some of the companies that provide excellent products( theres a few on this forum) . I wish I would have built my bottom end to withstand any future builds.

If you're not doing headwork, not much point in changing to the CR575 cam over your 48? I'd just add the 103 cylinders I guess and stand pat with the 48 you have.

Personally, if you are messing around with 103 and more cam/heads, I'd want my runout checked to make sure the foundation is okay. Granted, this comes from someone who had their crank prepped with doing a build.

Just a warning, chit gets spendy real fast.

You might as well go to 107" if you are going to be buying pistons and paying to bore a set of stock seasoned cylinders. I agree without doing headwork the cam change wouldn't give much return. I would use the cam money toward a GOOD tuner and dyno tune...

My friend started out the same way on his 2007 RK. Cam, exhaust and a tune. He was happy but wanted more so he decided on head work and bigger barrels. Long story short his crank run out was .012 and ended up building a 124. Did you check your run out when you installed the Andrews cams?

a 107" kit with headwork would be the ticket if going to the CR575 cams.check you run out,but with 50K,your lower end should be fine

Thanks for all the replies, and advice,I failed to mention that I am on a tight budget, and cant afford a bunch of $$$ for big bore kits.A friend has offered me his takeoff 103 cylinders, and pistons that have low miles ,and have considered installing them along with the.030 head gaskets to bump up the compression a bit, followed by the 575 cam.
No,I did not check the run out of the crank when I installed the cams-it never crossed my mind to.

you would do better to do all that and go with 570-2 cyclerama cam instead of the cr575

Exactly. Or just keep his 48 cam as it's right in the same ballpark as the 570. I wouldn't waste the $ on a cam that you'll barely notice the difference if all things are equal.

How about this. 48 cam and have the barrels bored out to 107 and have the compression set at 10.1. This would give you a 10 to 15 % increase in power and displacement.

Again check your run out first.
