My bike came with two fob's and owners manual. Also after they arm your fobs you might want to change the code. The instructions are in the manual. Maybe thats why you didn't get the manual so that you coudn't change the code. Did you get the video also? I forgot to mention that I got one with my bike also.
If the bike came equipped with the security system from the factory you should get 2 FOBs as the factory ships them with 2 FOBs. If, on the other hand, the security system was added on after the fact then they only come with 1 FOB. Even if the add on was done by the dealer before you took delivery, if it did not come that way from the factory you will only get 1 FOB.
Do you need to keep one of the FOB's locked away or just the metal tag that comes on one of them? Isn't the metal tag there so you can get it replaced?
i believe the metal tag is the key replacement code, not the fob.
when we got the wife's road king, we paid for security, but it didn't have it installed so they had to quick install it before we left. we only got one fob with that, but the dealer ordered us another fob. talking to the parts guy after the fob came in and he says that the post factory security systems were coming with one fob only. i don't remember if he said the old ones came with one, and the new ones were now coming with 2, or the other way around. either way, the dealer hooked us up.
YOu get two FOBs, one for use and the other with your key code info on the other one in case you lose your first one. Get the owner's manual as well. Don't let these guys slop through unless they're willing to kick back some cash for lack of dealer prep which is what you're being charged for.
