Easy step to miss if you haven't done it or don't have a manual. Me I've done it a few times and still get the manual out to remind myself.

Picked up the 1/4 stock today, bent and ground it down per the instructions. I was only able to work on it for about 10 minutes till I had to get ready for work. I moved the adjuster about 1/2 inch. The hard part is keeping the tool on the teeth when you hit it. I think i need to grind it down a little more. I'll be able to finish it up tomorrow.

Thanks again for the help.

If I want to tighten the bearing, I come at it from the left side. I use a bungee or something to hold the handle bars all the way to the right. That way I have both hands free and easy access to the star nut and tap it forward. Vise versa for loosening. I also use one of those lights you strap onto your forehead so I can see what I'm doing.

Old thread, but someone else might find this information useful. That Snap-On tool is a Lang #449 neck bearing adjustment tool.
Way pay the Snap-On price?

Yeah, I noticed the "Snap-On "tax" also. Yikes! Some of you guys must have a higher paying job than mine.
