got our 15 in Aug - wife has had a hard time 'learning' how to plug and unplug her head set into the left side of the seat area - Who ever designed this at HD should be ' Spanked ' We tried the HD Longer plug but that is just too much - She gets on then has to learn to the left and plug it in - not an easy task for her. On our 04 bike - we used Autocom for 10 years - that set up was much easier.
Does anyone her know of a company or a person that has or can make up a short 'Extension' cord... This would need a male and female of the larger plug at the seat - Then she could plug this in on the seat - let it hang - get on the bike - reach over get the short ext and plug that into her helmet cord.
Plus - the end that goes into our helmets - is that Just a straight push in - No locking click???? I have taken to using a nylon tie to secure that cord to our boom mic's to keep it secure and Not able to work loose and loose the connection
I was led to this company by a member here - called them - they said that the ext cord can be made to any length - which will be perfect - this will make it a lot easier for the wife
BTW - because of the 'Rushmore' forum here - I posted this question over there a Mod quickly REMOVED it???
I find that interesting,,, they will REMOVE my post but will NOT remove all the Crap that has invaded the Touring forum here?????
Thanks to the member that helped me out with this question.. May help others who have passenger's with same issue
We had the same problem but what I did
was run the pig tail up though the slot in my seat
where the drivers backrest goes and now she can plug it up easy.
The cord that is already there is long enough without a extension

Unfortunately, with the Rushmores they built the passenger plug into the outside of the rear speaker pod, rather than under the tourpak like the older bikes. H-D took a poor design and made it worse.

She plugs it into the helmet after she gets on??
WE found that plug to be very sensitive - meaning it can works its way (out?) and loose a connection???
again,, bad design - I have Zip Tied that cord/plug to the mic boom,
Anyway,, I have order a 12" extension - I will take a few pictures when we get it and how we use it -

Well that's not very good. Didn't know that, Mine works great by moving it right up the middle of the seat, she just looks down and plug it in.
