After I recoved my Hammock seat with a Black Croc pattern, I started thinking about all the money I have spent on my SG. Yes, I love my torque cams, PCV, 12" bars, chrome wheels and front forks, suspension upgrades and more. But as I thought about all the mods, I kept thinking about the ones that didn't cost an arm and a leg and gave me great satisfaction. I love the fact that I have switched over every bulb to LED's as I feel like I am more visible. But the one that takes the cake for me is the $25 mod of installing a relay under the cowbell and installing two Fiamm Hi-Lo horns. They are very loud and get me noticed. By far the best bang for the buck.
So, what is your favorite mod that didn't cost an arm and a leg?
Now I have something to offer back when I get cut off.
My divorce - walked away with more money in my pocket then I had before I started the process....
I had to laugh at that. Too funny.
My first divorce got me good, but I stuck it to her in the end. But now am married again. This time, I do what I want. If she doesn't like it, "Hasta la vista, Baby!" Although, she has bought expensive stuff too, I am fortunate that I always have as much money in my pocket as I want. We use credit cards alot.... just pay them off each month.
The second day I owned my 14 Street Glide I took it to down town Reno and paid $10.oo
for smoked front turn signal lens at Street Vibrations. Now that is a cheep accessory,
Loved the divorce comment I wouldn't even have my SG if I were still married.
As far as inexpensive mods go, I saved myself about a grand today by installing my 10" apes myself. Used a youtube video and a video on the Road6Customs website for guidance. Blowing the pull string through the bars with compressed air and using graphite instead of grease really helped.
Burly slammer shocks on my RG. I'm short and suffers from gout from time to time. I almost sold my RG because I was a bit tiptoing it and when gout flares up, forget it. The slammer shocks allowed me to flat foot and be confident on it. The short shock is actually better than the pos stock air shocks!
