Big Crank is the brand name used by batterymart, in fact they are Deka. And Deka, in turn is the supplier of HD batteries. To sum it up, it is the same battery, made of same materials, using the same technologies, just branded differently - and not marked up by HD!

I've had the Lightning Start for exactly 2yrs and its being replaced with a Big Crank this wknd. Bike is kept on a tender when not in use and the LS 600cca battery is toast. I took a chance on it because of the 600cca and it bit me in the ***.

Not necessarily. When places like Harley have companies make products for them those items are made to Harley's specifications which are not always as high as the actual manufacturer's brand. For example. Harley had their spark plugs made by Champion but they were in no way as good as the actual Champion branded plugs. My bike ran great on Champs but would spit out "Harley" plugs in less than two weeks! I'm just sayin.
