Because it doesn't have a proven track record vs other bike batteries,thats why.
For example,Deka type/design ETX30L maint free AGM bike battery has been around for many yrs thus earning a good rep for long srvc life at a good price which the lightning start battery doesnt have other then a few guys that tired it here in hdforums reporting they had a fairly short poor srvc life from it.
But the deka/bigcrank maint free factory activated agm 400cca battery has yrs of great feedback here in hdforums along with a lot of great feedback online too.
If you dont mind spending some extra bucks Yuasa'stop of the line hi perf 500cca maint free factory activated AGM line of batteries i posted earlier in this thread is a great battery IMHO & would be my 1st choice,second choice is the deka/Bigcrank 400cca agm battery because they are both high quality batteries with proven reliability from 2 known high quality motorcycle battery mfg's that have earned very good feedback backing them up.
Those are the only batteries i'd use in my 09 FLHTCU & or would install in bikes i maintain for friends of mine because i know they are rock solid reliable and wont leave me or anyone else stranded.
