08 and Older Header Question

Hello, I have a buddy with a 04 Road King. He would like a newer style header on it. All I have found are Dresser duals and 2-1 systems. I read a 09 and up header can be installed but takes a lot of mods. He rode with a guy who has a 06 CVO with a X pipe and that's what made him want to change his up.

You just need to either get a late model oil pan that has provisions for the exhaust mount under the bike or fabricate one.

It's a whole lot easier and less expensive to put on a Khrome Werks/S&S head pipe. It looks like the late header and goes under the bike and has a collector to equalize pressures.

I have the S&S"Power Tuned Duals" on my '06[same chassis as your bud's '04],and I just love 'em.

I too have the S&S pipes and like them a lot. They do indeed mimic the later model look.
