Default Touring Gloves...

I've spent far too much money over the years trying to find a pair of gloves i love for riding long distances. The trouble is, i can't seem to find a pair that doesn't make my throttle hand tired and ache after a while. As i'm sure most of you know, generally speaking when wearing gloves, you have to grip the throttle a bit more. I can ride all day long without gloves, but when it gets cooler and i need to put the gloves on, after an hour or two, my hand starts to ache from the need to hold on to the throttle tighter. Any of you guys have suggestions for comfortable gloves you love for long distance riding? Possibly with a more grippy palm area or something so such a tight grip isn't as necessary? I'm not overly concerned with price really if it'll be the last pair i have to buy. I quite literally have a box of pretty expensive gloves i've tried and not cared for.

I've got a few pair of "motorcycle" gloves and out of cheapness tried a pair of Harbor Freight work gloves. They are comfortable and under $10.

If the gloves fit properly it's not the gloves. I think it's somewhat instinctive to grip harder when there's a layer between your hand and grip, but it' snot at all necessary and can actually be detrimental to riding style. I wear gloves all of the time, and once you get used to it, you can develop a sufficiently light touch that gloves / no gloves, makes no difference. Problem is, the colder it is, the thicker the gloves get and the tighter our grip gets. You can train yourself to keep a light touch no matter what you are wearing for gloves.

I got a pair of Firstgear Navigator gloves for Christmas, wore them yesterday and today and they seem comfortable, with a thin palm that has friction pads. Haven't gone long distance with them yet but they are promising.

ps have you tried one of those throttle boss palm rest things?

I have a pair of Fullers that I love and they were not expensive. I agree with Harkon. I definitely don't find myself gripping tighter with gloves, and I never experience the hand fatigue - but I've always worn gloves so maybe it's all I know. I can't ride without them.

I have always had a Throttle Rocker (plenty of other brands that work well, too) on my bike to keep my wrist from becoming fatigued. A riding buddy of mine always made fun of me, though. "You don't need one of those things! You have cruise control!" I explained that there are times when I don't like to use cruise control, such as when I'm on the interstate navigating through the middle of a large city during rush hour, or when I'm running from the cops. He still didn't understand.

He recently bought a 2015 RG CVO, and at my suggestion he decided to try a Throttle Rocker. Now he's a believer. Said it was the best 10 bucks he ever spent on a bike.

(I lied about running from the cops.)

I always wear gloves, always had. Something to do with seeing gravel dug out of a palm that'll just do that to ya.

I can rest my hand against the throttle, fingers open and stretch my hand. If my hand is getting tired, I know that I've started to grip the bar and I just make a conscious effort to relax.

I got a set of these. Veeeery comfortable and not outrageously priced either.
