Apes
I put 10" Khrome Werks bagger bobber apes on my 2012 and didn't change nothing. My clutch cable is tight. The dealer told me that if I would have gone any taller I would have needed a clutch cable. My 10's are at the top of my fairing.
Height measurements vary from one brand of bar to another. Not all are created equal. Generally if you are going 12 or above you will need to replace the clutch and brake cable. You may get by with the stock cables with some 12s by rerouting the cables but it will be extremely tight.

I went plus 4 on clutch and brake and 10 on wires Being OCD I definitely was not cool with having to reroute lines to make it all work. I always like to have slack in wiring to ensure there is no tension on plug ends as well.

Just an opinion worth as much as it costs but I'd get whatever Apes suited my bike and riding style and then fit whatever cables and harness it took to make em work. If it was necessary to hold off for a time in order to accumulate the necessary $$, thats what I'd do.
Wise words! I've found that assurances on ther internet are not always reliable, there being no substitute for finding out first-hand and doing things that you will be happy with.
Not all bars are alike .............. one brands 10" does not equate to the same need for another brand. That said, I put 10" WO578's on a 12' Limited. All I added/required were poly bushings and +6 cable (definitely could have got away with +4). I say approximately 10" bars is the max ....
