Default saddlebag Bag lid chrome rails, ho;es left after removal

Hey guys, for those who removed there saddle bag chrome rails, what did you do to cover the holes, new paint is not in the budget and don't want spike bolts or anything like that.

Leather covers from Mustang or other vendors. Typically they're used to protect the lids from scuffs but they hide damage and holes

I used the existing hardware that was at the end of the rails attaching them to the bar. I turned them around backwards (if I remember correctly). I used a single nut on the inside of each to hold them in place. Then I put an acorn nut with flat washer to finish it off. Only takes a few minutes and I like the way they look. Don't have to modify anything.

I did remove rails from my lids at one time. I went to the hardware store and got some black plastic fasteners about the same size as the hole. The tops are rounded and smooth. The threaded part is plastic as well. They just push right in and cover the holes nicely and are good and snug.

Plastic hole plugs from your DIY center. Cheap and can be painted to match.
