Angry Chrome disintegrating.

2015 CVO 8K Miles. Leading chrome surfaces being eroded. Mirrors, mirror arms, legs, switch housings. Am I the only one experiencing this? Thank You.

Has the bike been exposed to hydrochloric/muriatic acid somehow? That will damage chrome. For example it is used for boat hull cleaner.

Think I'd be returning to the dealer with some demands and maybe a harsh word or two.

If it was one item perhaps, but all those various components can't have had bad chrome from the factory as they come from multiple sources. The bike was exposed to something.

Doubt all those separate parts came from the same batch of chrome plating or vendor for that matter.
Means whatever is happening to it has happened after production probably... can't see how that is a dealer/MoCo issue but you can always try.

Storing Chlorine or something in the garage?

Where are you storing the bike??? I saw a crazy bike that got seriously corroded on one side, in a shed covered but a big pile of fertilizer on the other side of the shed. The side of the bike facing the pile was toast.

I agree this is not due to normal circumstances.

I have to spray my chrome and polished parts with corrosion protectant a couple of times during storage because of warm humid salt air from road salt and a heated garage. It doesn't take much to damage the finish..

Would have guessed live by ocean and park outside or ride that environment and dont wash the bike down. Pretty views but at a cost of extra work
