what does everyone suggest to use to lower a 2000 road king. HD has shocks #54631-02B or could we use 06 streetglide shocks #54662-02A. don't know if anything later would work or fit. what about lowering blocks, pingles looks to be pretty good quality or some other companies. thanks !
this is for a buddy's bike. i've heard you are not suppose to run the premium shocks on the 08 and earlier bikes as the frame will not handle the stress. one shock adjustable and the other isn't is suppose to put undue stress on the swingarm and frame. anyone else hear this ? i will run this by him. thanks !

You are correct, the "09+ bikes have a stronger swing arm, which is needed for the way the premium shocks work.
They would probably work on a pre '09 bike, but over time you could develop issues.....
It would help if we knew why your buddy wants to lower his bike, as doing so can reduce ride quality.
short legs is the problem. he sold a fatboy and bought an 2000 roadking and it's to tall for him. he's worried about dumping it when he's riding it. thinking used streetglide shocks might be the anwser for him. he's all about the saving some money.
