I bought a 2014 Street Glide from an Army vet who rode his motorcycle in Germany and paid to have those maps installed. He was told when he gets backs to the states he can default it back to USA by downloading the info on Naviextras.com on USB and then onto the bike but it keeps getting an error.
ANyone have this issue and can you help me fix it? Heres the error
A pal of mine lives in the UK and owns a recent HDI bike, so naturally has European mapping as stock. There must be a simple way of swapping mapping for other continents! Does the owners manual show how to change mapping? I've done it on a separate gps unit often enough.
Go to Naviextras.com and create an account. Login and go to updates and extras > INTERCONTINENTAL RESTORATION. Download and restore your device to North America Premium factory map set for free.
You can only restore the original maps. For the '14 they were likely the 12Q2 Package.
Before downloading the package from the Intercontinental restoration page, please make sure that your USB stick has enough free space. Installation of an Intercontinental restoration package is quick and easy.
After downloading the package, please follow the steps below:
Unzip (most people miss this step) the package onto your local hard disk
Simply copy the unzipped package onto the root folder of your USB stick (I believe that you need to copy both the .iso file and the nng folder to your USB drive)
Connect your USB stick to your head unit
Turn Ignition swith to Accessory position
Wait until the head unit recognize your USB stick, syncronization process will start shortly
Write down the request code displayed on your head unit
Navigate to the Code redemption page, enter the request code
Write down the Activation code displayed
Enter the Activation code on your head unit
Connect your USB stick to your head unit
Wait until the head unit recognize your USB stick, syncronization process will start shortly
Write down the request code displayed on your head unit
Navigate to the Code redemption page, enter the request code
I followed your instructions and it take 9 hours to get this all in a usb unzipped but when I finally take it down to the bike it read the usb and says no media found.
What am I doing wrong, thank you for all your support on this.
Has your bike ever recognized a USB drive with data / music on it?
Do you have anything else on the USB drive that you are using when you try the restore?
I also notice after I downloaded the zip file it says its 3.10 gbs but when i open the root file and click properties it says 0 kb this is take right off Naviextras.
Is this the reason i get no media found or am I just a dumb jarhead?
