ORIGINAL: Pawnee

At present i have a pair of Samson Rolled Thunder Oval Style on my bike. The look very good and sound awesome. But when you want to do
a long trip you get a headache and problems with the ears because at a speed of 120 Km/h they are very to loud. I´m talking about trip of 3500 to 4000 kilometers.
I had the same Samsons on my old RK, and they also gave me a headache on long rides, not to mention ringing ears.

Are the Rush mufflers as loud as the Samson or are they a little bit more long-trip compatible?
I originally purchased Rush with 1.75" baffles, and they were marginal. When Fuel Moto introduced their custom baffles, now available with their Jackpot mufflers, I found the perfect sound for my taste. Deep but not too loud, and I can hear my stereo without problems even in the highway. They also perform up to 2-into-1 levels when equipped with a PCIII, AC, and FM's custom map.

Howdy, stranger!

Hello to you, too, Pawnee.

I have a pair of Rush 2.0s on my 07 FLHRC and find them absolutely perfect for every conceivable purpose beyond standing out in the herd of Harleys on my Wednesday-night rides.

The are un-obnoxious to my neighbors in the wee hours of the day yet will happily set off car alarms just cruising by with their depth of sound quality. I have only taken trips up to 7 hours length, but at any duration I never get uncomfortable, neither solo nor two-up, where conversation at highway speed is comfortable.

Hello Glens!

Thank you for help!

Which combination is louder? The 1.75 baffle version or the 2.5 baffle version? I think the bigger the baffle, the louder the mufflers, correct?

I recently went with the Rush 1.75" slashdowns, as I had a set of them on my ex-Street Bob and I liked them very much. So far so good on this set, although they haven't burned in yet and aren't quite as deep sounding as the ones on the Dyna were. They bark nicely when the throttle is cracked open but are very quiet at cruising speeds. I may swap the baffles for the 2 inchers later on, but the bigger the baffle, the leaner the mixture (I have a stock ECM) and I didn't want to generate any additional heat or lose low-end torque.

Have Pythons on our Ultra and they sound great. They sound almost as good as the SEII's on my Sporty.

Well I have Rush and I've had Samson. It really come down to your personal taste. I liked the sound of both and the finish. But if I had to pick one I would go with what I'm running now. The Rush Race series 175 left 225 right.
