I finally bought my first Harley. I found a pristine 2002 road king chrome from hell...Love it.
My concern is the seat it feels kinda hard. Is there a better option?
Maybe Mustang or something else???
Congratulations! And welcome to the family, and the site.
Great bike, (biased) just be ready to spend some cash spending time around here with lots of great ideas.
I have a Sundowner Deep Bucket w/adjustable backrest. I can go all day with no issues with that seat combination. I just put on a C&C leather seat w/backrest also. I like the way it sits me down and back a little in the saddle, Especially being a taller guy. I only have 250 miles on it so far, but its definitely stiffer than the other.
I would try it on some longer runs and then decide if you like it or not. If you don't you can send it off to Mean City Cycles for memory foam or gel insert, or check out aftermarket. Seats are very personal, what works for me may not work for you. There are a lot of options so do your homework.
Might I suggest you post some pictures of the bike and seat so people can help you identify what is on it? Harley themselves have and had a number of optional seats for your bike. As well the aftermarket.
Welcome from NC. As mentioned earlier, Mean City Cycles can modify your seat with a different foam. Very positive reviews here. HD also has a demo program where you can try out their seats. Check them out at your local dealer
When you get a chance, pics of your ride would be good. We love pics!
