After a ride yesterday , I think it might be the width of the seat that is causing us discomfort.

2002 RK's are great bikes...yours is no exception. The original seats that came on those model years totally SUCKED. How do I know???? My RKC is a 2002.
The Sundowner is an excellent option and probably the best for the price. I have both the Sundowner and a Mustang. Personally I like the Sundowner better but my wife likes the pillion on the Mustang...happy wife, happy life.

My 2002 came with a broken-in Mustang. Love the seat, very comfortable.
Check the cam chain tensioners, or get them checked...mine were shot, almost to metal. It had 74000 miles on it when I got it, but I didn't know when they were replaced last either, or if they were origional.
